Laura joined The Sterling Law Office in June 2012, and concentrates her practice on business disputes.  She has experience in all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit negotiations, drafting and answering civil complaints, motion practice, discovery, trial, and post-judgment collections.  Before joining The Sterling Law Office, Laura worked as an associate at a business litigation firm in Champaign, Illinois.


Laura represents both individuals and corporate entities.  She provides her clients with thoughtful counsel, seeking to understand their needs and form an efficient strategy to achieve their goals. Laura has a firm, yet level-headed approach, and has negotiated numerous disputes to settlement.


​Representative Matters 


  • Real Estate Broker Commission Claims. Representing owners and brokers in litigation involving commercial real estate broker lien claims and broker commission claims. 


  • ​Business Disputes. Representing partners, shareholders, and LLC members in litigation involving business operations, breaches of fiduciary duties, and fraud.


  • Real Estate Litigation. Representing buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties, including claims involving breach of contract, fraud,  and violations of the Residential Real Property Disclosure Act.


  • Commercial Litigation.  Representation of businesses in litigation involving breach of contract, interference with business relations, and fraud.


  • Commercial Landlord-Tenant​. Representation of owners and tenants in litigation involving commercial leases, including eviction actions. 


  • Condominium Litigation. Representing unit owners and associations in disputes involving condominium governance, breaches of fiduciary duty, and construction defects.
